Personal hygiene includes bathing, clothing. washing hands and toilet; care of feet. nails and teeth; spitting. coughing, sneezing. personal appearance. etc. A high standard of personal hygiene plays any important part in preventing the spread of infection.
Hand Wash
Always wash hands thoroughly with soap and water. for at least 15 seconds. before and after taking meal and after visiting the toilet. after smothering a sneeze, or after any other time your hands become. soiled. Soaping and rinsing should cover the areas between fingers. nails and back of the hand. Hands should be dried with a clean towel after wash. The towel at the wash stand has to be washed and changed every day.
Nails
Clip nails short along their shape. Don`t cut them so close that it pinches the skin. A healthy body ensures healthy nails. Brittle or discoloured nails show up deficiencies or disease condition.
Hair
Keeping long hair predispose to skin infections. Desirable length of hair is two inches.
Wash your hair using soap or mild shampoo. Rinse well. Dry after a wash.
